The DCD240X2 runs on DeWalt's 54V XR FlexVolt platform, delivering 1,600W UWO of output - equivalent to a 2,000W corded paddle mixer. The brushless motor provides extended runtime from each charge cycle, and the all-metal direct drive transmission is built to handle continuous heavy-duty mixing of plaster, render, mortar, tile adhesive, and epoxy on site.

Five speed settings with ramp-up control:

Electronic variable speed runs from 0 to 725 RPM across five preset settings: 300, 450, 550, 650, and 725 RPM. Every speed change includes a 5-second ramp-up and ramp-down function, which reduces material spread and splashback - a practical benefit when working with thin or fast-setting mixes. Maximum torque output is 50 Nm.

Standard M14 fitting and dual-handle design:

The mixer uses a standard M14 threaded paddle connection, so tradespeople can fit their own preferred paddles without adapters. The kit includes a 160mm centre pull-down swirl mixing paddle as standard. The dual-handle layout distributes load across both hands, reducing fatigue during extended mixing sessions, and a safety lock-off switch prevents accidental starts.

XR FlexVolt battery compatibility:

The two included DCB547 batteries are rated at 9.0Ah at 18V and 3.0Ah at 54V - the same physical cell, dual-voltage rated. These batteries are fully backwards compatible with the entire DeWalt 18V XR cordless range, so they can power other tools on site when not in the mixer. Setup and Care

Getting started:

Charge both DCB547 batteries fully using the included DCB118 fast charger before first use. Fit the supplied 160mm M14 paddle by threading it clockwise into the chuck, or attach your own M14-compatible paddle. Engage the safety lock-off switch before connecting the battery to the tool.

Choosing the right speed:

Start at speed setting 1 (300 RPM) for initial incorporation of dry materials into liquid, then increase to higher settings once the mix is combined. The 5-second ramp-up function handles speed transitions automatically, so there is no need to manually ease into higher settings. Use the lower speeds for thin mixes and the higher settings for heavy mortars and renders.

Cleaning after use:

Remove the battery before cleaning. Rinse the paddle immediately after use before material sets - dried cement, plaster, or epoxy is significantly harder to remove. Wipe down the tool body with a damp cloth; do not submerge the tool or direct water at the motor housing or battery contacts.

Battery and storage care:

Store DCB547 batteries at room temperature and away from direct sunlight or damp conditions. The FlexVolt batteries can be used interchangeably with other DeWalt 18V XR tools on site. Register the product on MyDeWalt within 4 weeks of purchase to extend the standard 1-year guarantee to 3 years.
