Dimplex FX20VEW Wall Mounted Downflow Heater with ConfigR App and Timer

Fast, Directed Warmth for Smaller Rooms:

The Dimplex FX20VEW delivers up to 2kW of heat directed downward from the wall, circulating warmth through bathrooms, cloakrooms, kitchens, and utility areas without taking up any floor space. A selectable 1kW or 2kW output lets installers set the appropriate level for the room during installation.

Pull Cord and 30-Minute Run-Back Timer:

A pull cord provides quick manual control, while the built-in electronic timer automatically switches the heater off after a period of up to 30 minutes, adjustable in 5-minute increments. This prevents the heater being left on accidentally and helps keep energy use in check.

ConfigR App for Seven-Day Scheduling:

The FX20VEW is compatible with the Dimplex ConfigR app, allowing users or installers to programme a seven-day heating schedule, set precise temperatures between 7°C and 32°C, configure run-back durations, and manage boost functions from a smartphone. This makes it straightforward to match heating to actual occupancy patterns without manual adjustment each day.

Retrofit-Ready Design:

The FX20VEW shares the same footprint and fixing-point layout as earlier Dimplex FX heaters, making it a direct retrofit replacement for existing installations. Two upper keyhole slots and a third securing fixing hole are used for wall mounting, with a recommended installation height of 1.8m. The double-insulated, flame-retardant nylon casing meets BS 7671 wiring regulations and European Safety Standard EN60335:2-30.

Setup and Care

Installation:

Wall mounting requires a qualified electrician in line with BS 7671 wiring regulations. Two upper keyhole slots and a third securing fixing hole are provided; the recommended installation height is 1.8m from the floor. For existing FX-series installations, the FX20VEW uses the same fixing-point layout, so the new unit fits directly onto existing wall fixings.

ConfigR App Setup:

Download the Dimplex ConfigR app on a compatible smartphone and follow the in-app pairing instructions to connect to the FX20VEW. Once paired, heating schedules, temperature setpoints, and run-back durations can be adjusted remotely without any manual adjustment at the heater itself.

Timer Operation:

Pull the cord to activate the heater; the run-back timer duration is set using the timer dial and will switch the heater off automatically at the end of the selected period. The heater can also be switched off manually before the timer expires by pulling the cord again.

Cleaning and Maintenance:

Wipe the outer casing with a dry or lightly damp cloth only; do not use abrasive cleaners or spray liquids directly onto the unit. Ensure the heater is switched off and cool before cleaning. If the thermal cut-out operates, allow the heater to cool, then press the reset button before restoring power.
