HP EliteBook 6 G1q - a Reliable 14 Inch Laptop for Business Use

A business-class build that is ready for the working day:

The HP EliteBook 6 G1q is built around the Qualcomm Snapdragon X X1-26-100 processor, an 8-core chip running at up to 2.976 GHz that carries the Copilot+ PC designation - meaning it meets Microsoft's minimum requirement of 40 NPU TOPS for on-device AI workloads, delivered here via a Qualcomm Hexagon NPU rated at 45 TOPS. The 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 512GB PCIe NVMe SSD keep everyday business tasks moving at a consistent pace. At 1.44 kg and 1.7 cm thin at the rear, it is a genuinely portable machine for anyone moving between office, site, and home.

Display and battery life suited to long working hours:

The 14-inch IPS panel runs at 1920 x 1200 (WUXGA) with a 16:10 aspect ratio, giving a little extra vertical space compared with a standard 16:9 screen - useful when working through long documents or spreadsheets. At 300 cd/m², the display is comfortable in a typical office environment and carries a Low Blue Light certification. HP rates battery life at up to 24 hours 45 minutes, and the included 65W USB-C adapter supports HP Fast Charge for topping up between meetings.

Security and durability built in from the start:

The EliteBook 6 G1q has been tested to MIL-STD-810H standards, covering drops, vibration, temperature variation, and humidity. Security features include a fingerprint reader, TPM 2.0 chip, HP Sure Click for browser and attachment protection, HP Sure Sense for AI-based malware detection, and Secured-core PC capability. The chassis uses 50% recycled aluminium in its external covers and incorporates ocean-bound and post-consumer recycled plastics, reflecting HP's sustainability commitments. EPEAT Gold and ENERGY STAR certifications are held by this model.

Connectivity and audio for professional collaboration:

The port selection covers two USB4 ports with DisplayPort 1.4 and Power Delivery, one HDMI, one RJ-45 LAN, two USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports (one with power-off charging), and a headphone/microphone combo jack - giving wired connectivity alongside Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3 via a Qualcomm FastConnect 6900 module. The full HD 1080p webcam includes a physical privacy shutter, and Poly Camera Pro software brings NPU-accelerated auto framing and background blur. Dual stereo speakers with Poly Studio processing and a dual array microphone round out the audio setup for video calls.

Setup and Care

Getting started:

Charge the laptop fully using the included 65W USB-C adapter before first use. The USB-C port accepts the adapter on either side of the machine for convenient desk setups. Windows 11 Pro guides you through account setup on first boot.

Keeping it in good condition:

Wipe the aluminium chassis and display with a soft, dry or lightly damp cloth. Avoid abrasive materials on the screen surface. The spill-resistant keyboard provides a degree of protection against minor liquid exposure, though prompt drying is always advisable.

Battery care:

The built-in 56.04 Wh battery is not user-replaceable. For day-to-day use, HP recommends avoiding extended periods at 100% charge where possible. The 65W USB-C adapter supports HP Fast Charge for quick top-ups when time is short.

Software and security updates:

Keep Windows 11 Pro and HP support software up to date via Windows Update and HP Support Assistant. HP Sure Start automatically recovers the BIOS if corruption is detected, and HP BIOSphere Gen6 provides ongoing BIOS management without manual intervention.
