SPLIT POINT Geometry:
The double-sided SPLIT POINT tip geometry centres the bit on contact with the workpiece, reducing the need for a centre punch on most surfaces. This design also lowers the pressure required to begin drilling, reducing operator fatigue and minimising the risk of the bit wandering on flat metal sheet.
Suited to a Wide Range of Metals:
Made from high-quality HSS (High-Speed Steel), this drill bit is suitable for use on carbon steel, structural steel, metal sheet and profiles, aluminium, and non-ferrous metals. The 135-degree point angle is particularly effective when drilling in harder steel grades. It is not intended for use on stainless steel or hardened materials, for which Rawlplug's cobalt-grade bits are the appropriate choice.
