Rawlplug Impactor Masonry Drill Bit for Concrete and Brick

Built for concrete, brick, and block:

The Rawlplug Impactor masonry drill bit is designed for drilling into concrete, solid brick, hollow brick, and lightweight concrete block. At 6.5mm x 100mm, it suits a wide range of common fixing tasks - from wall plug holes to anchor fixings - and is compatible with both standard impact drills and cordless hammer drills.

Tungsten carbide tip with deep carbide seating:

The shatterproof tip is made from a special grade of tungsten carbide, ground sharp for quick, cylindrical drilling. Rawlplug's design places the carbide plate very deep into the drill core, improving the bond between tip and body and helping the bit hold its cutting edge for longer under repeated impact.

Heat-treated steel and efficient dust clearance:

The steel body is heat-treated to 52 HRC, giving it strong resistance to wear and distortion during demanding use. Wide, deep flutes channel dust and debris out of the hole continuously as you drill, keeping temperatures lower and reducing the risk of the bit binding or clogging in the material.

SicherSafe certified and battery-efficient:

The Impactor range holds the SicherSafe certificate, an international quality standard confirming extremely high cylindricity and axial alignment in drilled holes - meaning cleaner, more accurate results in masonry. When used with a cordless hammer drill, the Impactor is engineered to consume up to 20% less battery power compared with standard masonry bits, extending runtime between charges on the job.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will this masonry drill bit work with both impact drills and cordless hammer drills?

Yes, the Rawlplug Impactor is compatible with both standard impact drills and cordless hammer drills. The straight cylindrical shank fits the chucks on both tool types without any adapter. When used with a cordless hammer drill, the Impactor is engineered to consume up to 20% less battery power compared with standard masonry bits, extending runtime between charges on the job. The model code is IMP-065-100.

What makes this masonry drill bit more durable than a standard bit?

Three features set it apart. The shatterproof tungsten carbide tip is ground sharp and seated very deep into the drill core, strengthening the bond between tip and body so the cutting edge lasts longer under repeated impact. The steel body is heat-treated to 52 HRC for strong resistance to wear and distortion. Wide, deep flutes channel dust out of the hole continuously, keeping temperatures lower and preventing the bit from binding or clogging.

What materials can this concrete drill bit drill through?

This masonry drill bit is built for concrete, solid brick, hollow brick, and lightweight concrete block. At 6.5mm diameter and 100mm in length, it suits a wide range of common fixing tasks including wall plug holes and anchor fixings. It is not designed for use in timber, metal, or tile.

What does the SicherSafe certification mean for the quality of holes this bit drills?

SicherSafe is an international quality certification confirming extremely high cylindricity and axial alignment in drilled holes. In plain terms, it means the holes this masonry drill bit produces are consistently round and straight, rather than oval or angled. That matters when seating wall plugs or anchor fixings accurately in concrete or brick, where a poorly aligned hole can cause a fixing to fail.
