Five detection technologies working together:

The Shark PowerDetect IP1251UKT uses PowerDetect Intelligence, a system of five integrated sensors, to automatically read your cleaning environment and adjust performance in real time. DirtDetect boosts power when extra dirt is sensed, EdgeDetect increases suction at skirting boards and corners, FloorDetect switches brush-roll speed and suction between carpet and hard floor, DirectionDetect enables effective cleaning on both the forward and reverse stroke, and DuoClean Detect runs twin brush-rolls to pick up fine dust and larger debris simultaneously.

Reverse Clean Technology for faster whole-home cleaning:

The patent-pending fin design on the DuoClean Detect head means the vacuum picks up debris going backwards just as effectively as going forwards. That halves the number of passes needed on each section of floor, making a full clean noticeably faster. The LED display on the hand vac unit provides real-time readouts for dirt detection level and remaining battery status so you always know what the machine is doing.

Up to 70 minutes on a single charge:

On a fully charged 21.6V Lithium-Ion battery, the IP1251UKT runs for up to 70 minutes in ECO mode without a motorised tool, which is enough for most homes in a single session. Charging takes 6 hours. The battery carries its own 2-year guarantee, while the full machine is covered by a 5-year parts and labour guarantee when registered with Shark.

Anti Hair Wrap Plus and complete allergen seal:

Anti Hair Wrap Plus actively removes hair from the brush-roll as the machine cleans, keeping performance consistent in homes with pets or long hair. The Anti-Allergen Complete Seal system, combining felt, washable foam, and a post-motor HEPA filter, retains 99.9% of dust and allergens inside the machine rather than releasing them back into the room.

Flexology design converts to a handheld:

The Flexology wand bends at the joint above the floor head, letting the machine reach under low-lying furniture without moving it, and allowing the vacuum to stand upright on its own for storage. Detach the hand vac unit from the wand entirely and it becomes a compact handheld for stairs, upholstery, or the car interior. Setup and Care

Getting started:

Attach the wand to the hand vac unit and clip the DuoClean Detect floor head to the base of the wand. Insert the charged battery, select your preferred mode using the trigger on the handle, and the machine is ready to use. The Flexology joint can be bent during use to reach under furniture.

Emptying the bin:

The 0.7-litre bin is emptied by pressing the release button above the dust cup and directing the contents into a bin. Emptying regularly keeps suction performance consistent. The bin is designed to be emptied without contact with the collected debris.

Filter care:

The pre-motor felt and foam filters are washable - rinse under cold water and allow to dry fully before refitting, which typically takes 24 hours. The post-motor HEPA filter should be checked periodically and replaced when cleaning performance begins to reduce. Replacement filters are available separately.

Battery care:

Store the battery at room temperature when not in use for extended periods, and charge fully before first use. The battery is covered by a separate 2-year guarantee. For best long-term battery health, avoid leaving the machine on charge continuously once fully charged.
