Zinsser Peel Stop is a clear, flexible binding primer that penetrates and seals peeling, cracking, and chalking paint surfaces. The vinyl resin formula works by gluing down loose paint edges and seeping into cracks, creating a stable foundation for new primer and paint. This prevents further peeling and flaking, extending the life of your paint job without the need for complete paint removal down to bare substrate.

Breathable acrylic film prevents future blistering and cracking:

Unlike rigid primers, Peel Stop forms a tough yet flexible acrylic film that moves with the surface as it expands and contracts. The breathable formula allows trapped moisture to escape, preventing future blistering, bubbling, and cracking that occurs when moisture becomes trapped beneath the paint layer. This makes Peel Stop particularly effective on exterior surfaces exposed to weather and temperature changes.

Fast drying with broad surface and topcoat compatibility:

Peel Stop dries to the touch in just 1 hour and is recoatable within 2 hours, keeping projects on schedule. The water-based, low-odour formula cleans up with warm soapy water. Once dry, any water-based or alkyd primer or paint can be applied over the top. Suitable for wood siding, concrete, stucco, galvanised metal, rough-sawn cedar, and other deteriorating surfaces both indoors and outdoors.
