Holster-pocket trousers put loose fixings, a tape measure and hand tools within reach without a separate belt pouch, and the pocket is reinforced because it takes the most wear on the garment. Stretch panels at the knee and seat matter more than they sound: a rigid trouser restricts kneeling and crouching over a full shift, while stretch fabric moves with the body and reduces fatigue on repetitive tasks. Knee pad pockets built into the fabric hold a pad in place at the knee itself, which is the only position that actually protects, rather than a strap-on pad that slides down the leg. Canvas+ construction trades a little stretch for extra abrasion resistance in the pocket area, which suits trades working around masonry, timber offcuts or sheet metal. Sizing runs to European workwear conventions and should allow for a base layer underneath in winter.
