Setup and Care

Positioning and exhaust hose installation:

Place the air conditioner on a flat, stable floor surface near a window. Connect the exhaust hose to the rear of the unit and route it to the window using the included window kit. The exhaust hose vents warm air outside whilst the unit cools the room. Ensure the hose is as straight and short as possible for best cooling performance. Close all other windows and doors in the room during operation.

Connecting the BLACK+DECKER Home app:

Download the BLACK+DECKER Home app from the App Store or Google Play Store. Create an account and follow the in-app instructions to connect the air conditioner to your home Wi-Fi network. Once connected, you can control the unit remotely, adjust temperature, change modes, and programme weekly schedules from your phone or tablet.

Using the dehumidifying function and drainage hose:

The dehumidifying function extracts up to 8.4 litres of moisture per day. Connect the drainage hose to the unit for continuous drainage into a container, floor drain, or external outlet. This allows the dehumidifier to run continuously without manual emptying. The dehumidifying function helps to reduce condensation, damp, and mould in bathrooms, utility rooms, conservatories, and any room with excess humidity.

Filter cleaning and seasonal storage:

Check and clean the air filter regularly to maintain airflow and cooling performance. Remove the filter, wash with warm soapy water, rinse thoroughly, and allow to dry completely before refitting. At the end of the cooling season, drain any remaining water from the unit, clean the filter, disconnect the exhaust hose, and store the unit in a dry location. Cover the unit to protect it from dust during storage.
