Blomberg Washing Machine with SpinSave and Steam for Everyday Laundry

An 8kg Blomberg washing machine built around energy and time savings:

The Blomberg LWA18461W washing machine delivers a rated 8kg capacity and a 1,400 rpm spin speed in a freestanding white finish. It holds an A energy rating, consuming 47 kWh per 100 cycles, and its SpinSave drum movement technology cuts energy use by up to 35% compared to standard wash cycles. The 8kg format suits most family households, and all 15 programmes are controlled via a straightforward rotary dial and display panel.

CreaseEase and SteamTherapy for reduced ironing:

CreaseEase adjusts water level, spin speed, and steam output during the wash to minimise wrinkles in the load, with Blomberg stating a reduction in ironing time of up to 50%. The SteamTherapy programme uses steam to refresh garments and loosen creases without a full wash cycle. Both features work alongside the 170-degree door opening and 34 cm porthole to make loading and unloading straightforward.

Optima Inverter Motor and RecycledTub credentials:

The Optima Inverter Motor is a brushless digital inverter motor that is designed for quiet running, with a spin noise level of 76 dB. The RecycledTub drum tub incorporates recycled plastic bottles into its construction, reducing the use of virgin plastic in manufacture.

Fast Full Load and a 24-hour delayed start:

The Fast Full Load programme completes a full 8kg wash in under 30 minutes, while the Mini 14 option handles smaller loads in 14 minutes. A 24-hour delayed start timer lets you set the machine to finish at a convenient time, and the add laundry function allows garments to be added after a cycle has begun. Out-of-balance protection, child lock, and automatic load recognition are also included as standard.

Setup and Care

Installation:

The LWA18461W is a cold-fill-only machine requiring a standard cold water inlet connection and a suitable drainage outlet. Before use, remove the transit bolts and the poly block from the rear of the machine - these are shipping protectors and must be taken out before the first cycle. Four adjustable feet (0-15 mm extension range, front and rear) allow the machine to be levelled on uneven flooring.

First use:

Run an empty Drum Clean or Cottons cycle at 60°C before washing your first load to rinse the drum. Add a small amount of detergent to the main wash compartment of the dispenser drawer. The machine accepts both liquid and powder detergent formats.

Ongoing drum care:

Use the Drum Clean programme at regular intervals to keep the drum clean and prevent odour build-up. Leave the door slightly ajar between washes to allow the drum interior to dry. Wipe the door seal periodically to remove any lint or residue that collects in the folds.

Dispenser and filter maintenance:

Remove and rinse the detergent dispenser drawer monthly to prevent blockages. Clean the pump filter every few months - the filter access panel is located at the lower front of the machine. Refer to the user manual for the correct filter cleaning procedure specific to this model.
