The SMH4HVX14G runs at 46 dB, making it one of the quieter dishwashers in its class and well suited to open-plan kitchens or evening use. The EcoSilence Drive™ brushless motor reduces both noise and wear, and the machine carries a C energy rating with a water consumption of just 9.0 litres per Eco cycle - measured over 100 cycles, total energy consumption is 75 kWh.

Extra Dry for difficult loads:

The Extra Dry function delivers an additional drying boost for plastics and mixed loads that a standard heat-exchanger cycle may leave damp. Combined with the Hygiene+ programme, it gives added confidence when washing items that need thorough drying, such as baby bottles, food containers, and cutting boards.

Home Connect app and smart control:

Basket system and load capacity:

The upper basket uses a 3-stage Rackmatic height adjustment, so taller items in the lower basket can be accommodated without difficulty. The VarioDrawer cutlery tray sits above the upper basket, freeing up space in the main load area. Foldable plate racks are included in both baskets - two in the upper, four in the lower - and a rack stopper prevents the lower basket from derailing when pulled out fully.

Setup and Care

Installation:

The SMH4HVX14G is designed for full integration behind a standard 600 mm furniture door supplied by the installer. The Vario Hinge accommodates plinth heights from 815 mm to 875 mm and adjusts both horizontally and vertically for a precise fit. Column installation and an adjustable plinth are both supported. Professional installation is recommended to connect water supply, drainage, and electrical supply to the rated 2400 W, 10 A specification.

First use:

Before the first wash cycle, fill the rinse aid dispenser and load the salt reservoir with dishwasher salt to protect against limescale build-up. Set the water hardness level according to your local supply - water hardness information is available from your water authority. Run a short empty cycle before loading dishes for the first time.

Routine care:

Clean the filters after every few cycles by rinsing them under running water. Run the Machine Care programme periodically to keep the interior fresh and maintain cleaning performance. Top up rinse aid and salt as indicated by the dashboard lights.

Home Connect app:

Download the free Bosch Home Connect app on iOS or Android and follow the in-app instructions to register the appliance on your home Wi-Fi network. Once connected, you can start, monitor, and schedule cycles remotely, and download additional programmes to suit specific loads. Registering the appliance with Bosch also activates the 5-year manufacturer's warranty.
