The De'Longhi Magnifica Start ECAM220.61.GB is an entry-level bean to cup coffee machine that grinds whole beans immediately before each brew using a stainless steel conical burr grinder with 13 grind settings. The 250 g bean hopper sits alongside a bypass compartment for pre-ground coffee if needed.

One Touch, Four Drinks:

A soft-touch control panel with clear black and white icons lets you select from four one-touch recipes: Espresso, Double Espresso, Coffee, and Latte Macchiato - plus a Hot Water function. Cup volume is adjustable between 90 and 140 ml to suit your preference, and two coffee strength levels give you further control over the result.

LatteCrema Hot Technology:

The included LatteCrema Hot milk carafe attaches to the machine and delivers fine, rich hot milk foam automatically at the press of a button. The 250 ml carafe can be detached and stored in the fridge between uses. After each milk drink, the system runs an automatic one-touch clean cycle through the carafe.

Built for Everyday Use:

The Thermoblock heating system brings the machine up to brewing temperature quickly, while auto shut-off reduces energy use between sessions. Setup and Care

Getting Started:

Place the machine on a flat, stable surface near a mains socket. Fill the water tank from the front, add whole beans to the 250 g hopper, and set your preferred grind level using the dial at the top of the machine. The soft-touch panel guides you through the first-use rinsing cycle before your first brew.

Daily Care:

After each milk drink, run the one-touch automatic clean cycle through the LatteCrema Hot carafe. Empty the grounds container when the indicator prompts you to do so - it holds up to 14 servings before it needs emptying. Removable parts including the carafe and drip tray are dishwasher safe.

Descaling and Maintenance:

The machine has built-in rinsing, cleaning, and descaling programmes that run automatically when prompted by the display. Use the included Total Hardness Test strip to check your local water before first use, and follow the machine's descaling prompt using a suitable descaler such as the included EcoDecalk solution.

Storage:

If the machine will not be used for an extended period, empty and dry the water tank and milk carafe before storing. The LatteCrema Hot carafe can be stored in the fridge between uses on a daily basis.
