Setup and Care

Getting Started:

Fill the 1-litre water tank and run a rinse cycle before making your first coffee. Insert the portafilter with your preferred filter basket, tamp the ground coffee firmly, and lock the handle into position. The dial controls step you through the process clearly from the first use.

Using ESE Pods:

The EC260.BK accepts standard E.S.E. (Easy Serving Espresso) pods in addition to ground coffee. Simply place the pod in the filter basket before brewing. No tamping is needed when using pods.

Frothing Milk:

Purge the steam wand briefly before and after each use to keep it clear. Submerge the tip just below the surface of cold milk and bring it up gradually to create foam. A damp cloth wiped over the wand immediately after use keeps it in good condition.

Daily Cleaning:

Remove and rinse the drip tray and filter baskets after each session. The water tank lifts out for a thorough rinse. Descaling regularly with a De'Longhi-approved descaler keeps the stainless steel boiler performing at its best and extends the life of the machine.
