Spindle lock and restart protection for safe, convenient disc changes:

The spindle lock holds the shaft stationary while you loosen or tighten the disc nut, allowing fast, tool-free disc changes between cutting, grinding, and sanding tasks. Restart protection is built in as a safety feature: if the power supply is interrupted while the grinder is switched on, the motor will not restart unexpectedly when power returns. You must switch the grinder off and on again deliberately, preventing accidental activation.

Setup and Care

Fitting a disc and adjusting the guard:

Engage the spindle lock and fit a 115mm disc onto the spindle using the supplied flange and nut. Tighten the nut with the pin spanner. Position the adjustable disc guard to direct sparks and debris away from you and the workpiece. Ensure the guard is securely locked before starting the grinder. Use only discs rated for at least 12,000 RPM.

Operating the grinder safely:

Attach the additional handle in the most comfortable position for the task. Hold the grinder firmly with both hands. Switch on using the slider switch and allow the disc to reach full speed before making contact with the workpiece. Let the disc do the work without applying excessive pressure. Wear safety glasses, ear protection, dust mask, and gloves during use.

Changing discs between tasks:

Unplug the grinder from the mains before changing discs. Engage the spindle lock and use the pin spanner to loosen the nut. Remove the used disc and fit the replacement. Match the disc type to the task: thin cutting discs for metal, thicker grinding discs for smoothing, flap discs for finishing, and wire brush wheels for rust removal. Check all discs for damage or cracks before fitting.

Cleaning, storage, and warranty registration:

After use, allow the grinder to cool before storing. Wipe the body with a dry cloth to remove dust and debris. Keep the air vents clear for motor cooling. Store in a dry location. Register the grinder on the Einhell website within 28 days of purchase to extend the warranty from 2 years to 3 years.
