Setup and Care

Suitable system type:

This pump is designed for positive head gravity-fed systems only, where the cold-water storage tank is situated above the pump and shower outlets. A minimum static head of 1 m between the base of the cold-water tank and the pump inlet is required for correct operation.

Installation notes:

The pump must be installed by a qualified plumber and connected to a dedicated 230 V / 50 Hz mains supply via a double-pole isolator switch with a minimum 3 mm contact gap. The power cable supplied does not include a plug, so a qualified electrician should terminate the connection. Mount the pump on a firm, level surface using the anti-vibration feet provided to minimise noise and vibration.

Commissioning and operation:

Ensure all pipework is flushed before connecting the pump, and use the basket strainers provided to protect the impellers from debris. The flow and pressure switches start and stop the pump automatically in response to water demand, so no manual switching is required during normal use.

Ongoing maintenance:

Inspect the basket strainers periodically and clean them as required to maintain flow performance. If the built-in thermal protection trips, allow the pump to cool fully before investigating the cause before restarting. For any servicing requirements, consult a qualified plumber familiar with Grundfos shower pump installations.
