The Jackery SolarSaga 40W Mini is an ultra-portable solar panel built around high-efficiency monocrystalline cells that convert up to 23% of available sunlight into usable power. The four-fold design compresses the 40W panel down to a compact 252 x 300 x 30mm package that weighs just 1.2kg (2.6 lbs), lighter than most laptops. Unfold the panel to its full 1020 x 300mm working area, position it in direct sunlight, and it begins generating power immediately. Two carabiners are included for clipping the panel to a backpack, rucksack, or tent guy line whilst on the move.

Built-in USB-A and USB-C ports for direct device charging:

The standalone version of the SolarSaga 40W Mini includes a multifunctional USB hub cable with built-in USB-A (5V/2.4A) and USB-C (5V/3A) ports, allowing you to charge smartphones, tablets, earbuds, power banks, action cameras, and other USB-powered devices directly from the solar panel without needing a separate power station. Under optimal sunlight conditions, a 13W smartphone charges in approximately 2.5 hours and a 13W tablet in around 5 hours. The DC8020 port connects to compatible Jackery power stations for stored energy use after dark.

IP68 waterproof, dustproof, and TÜV SÜD certified:

The IP68 rating provides full dust and water resistance, protecting the panel during rain showers, splashes, and damp ground conditions commonly encountered during outdoor activities. The panel has been verified against 8 IEC test standards and certified by TÜV SÜD for safety and performance. The operating temperature range of -20°C to 65°C covers use in cold mountain environments, hot summer conditions, and everything in between.

Adaptors are available separately for connecting to older Jackery power station models. Setup and Care

Unfolding and positioning for best solar capture:

Unfold the four panels and lay the SolarSaga 40W Mini flat on the ground or prop it at an angle facing the sun. For best performance, position the panel perpendicular to direct sunlight and adjust the angle as the sun moves throughout the day. Avoid partial shading: even a small shadow across one section of the panel reduces output significantly. The two carabiners can be used to hang the panel from a tent, fence, or rucksack for charging on the move.

Charging devices directly via USB:

Connect the multifunctional USB hub cable to the panel. Plug your smartphone, tablet, or USB device into the USB-A or USB-C port. Charging begins automatically when sufficient sunlight is available. Under optimal conditions (direct sunlight, clear sky, panel perpendicular to sun), a 13W smartphone charges in approximately 2.5 hours. Charging speed will vary with cloud cover, panel angle, and time of day.

Charging Jackery power stations via DC8020:

Connect the DC8020 port on the hub cable to a compatible Jackery Explorer power station (100 Plus, 240 v2, or 300 Plus). The power station stores the solar energy for use after dark, during cloudy periods, or indoors. For older Jackery power station models, a separate adaptor (sold separately) is required. Do not connect the panel to non-Jackery power stations without verifying voltage and connector compatibility.

Cleaning, storage, and weather care:

Wipe the panel surface with a soft damp cloth to remove dust, pollen, bird droppings, and debris that reduce solar efficiency. The IP68 rating protects the panel section during rain and splashes, but store the USB hub cable connections dry when not in use. Fold the panel and store in a dry location away from direct heat. Avoid folding or creasing the panel surface beyond the designed fold lines.
