A durable floor coating built for working environments:

Johnstones Trade Flortred is a solvent-based, semi-gloss floor paint with added polyurethane, giving it a harder-wearing finish than conventional single-pack floor coatings. It is formulated to withstand light to medium levels of foot traffic, including corridors and walkways, and will cope with low levels of vehicle traffic such as domestic garages. The Princess Grey shade works across a wide range of commercial and domestic floor surfaces.

Chemical and physical resistance:

Flortred is resistant to mild chemicals, water, oil, grease and impact, making it well suited to workshops, plant rooms and utility areas where spills and scuffs are a regular occurrence. The solvent-based formulation bonds firmly to concrete, steel and wooden floors, providing a finish that holds up under daily use rather than chipping or peeling prematurely.

Application and drying times:

Apply by brush or roller in one or two coats. The paint is touch dry within 2-4 hours and can be recoated after 16-24 hours, which keeps disruption to a minimum in occupied buildings. Full cure is reached after seven days, at which point the floor can be considered ready for its full working load. Coverage is approximately 11 m² per litre, giving roughly 55 m² from this 5-litre tin.

Interior and exterior flexibility:

While Flortred is primarily an interior floor coating, it is also suitable for exterior use on walkways, car park spaces and other marked areas. It is not recommended for large external surfaces exposed to full weathering, but performs well in covered or semi-covered external zones. For additional grip on wet or slippery surfaces, Johnstones Trade Anti-Slip Additive can be mixed in separately and is sold alongside this product.
