Sadolin Extra Durable Woodstain - Heritage Oak Semi-Gloss for Exterior Timber
Microporous protection that moves with the wood:
Sadolin Extra Durable Woodstain uses a solvent-based, microporous formula that forms a flexible film on the surface of the timber. This film expands and contracts with natural wood movement, reducing the risk of peeling, blistering, or flaking over time. The alkyd resin base, dissolved in dearomatised white spirit, bonds firmly to exterior joinery such as doors, window frames, and conservatories.
UV filters and weather-resistant finish:
The formula incorporates UV filters and water-repellent technology to guard against sun damage, moisture ingress, and general weathering on exterior surfaces. The translucent semi-gloss finish allows the natural grain of the wood to remain visible while delivering a Heritage Oak tone that enriches the timber's appearance. Coverage reaches up to 15 m² per litre on planed softwood or hardwood.
Part of the Sadolin two-coat system:
For best results on new or bare timber, Sadolin recommend applying one coat of Sadolin Classic as a base coat, followed by two coats of Sadolin Extra Durable Woodstain. Recoating can be carried out after 16-24 hours, and the product is touch dry in 4-6 hours at 20°C. Timber moisture content must not exceed 18% before application, and temperatures must be between 8°C and 25°C during application and drying.
Not suitable for floors or decking:
This product is formulated specifically for vertical and overhead exterior joinery and is not recommended for use on decking or flooring. Application by brush only is advised - Sadolin do not recommend spraying this product. Compliance with BS 6150:2006 and BS 8000: Part 1:1989 is specified in the technical datasheet.
