The HW-S60D packs 7 individual speakers into a single 670 mm bar, delivering 200W of 5.0-channel audio without needing a separate subwoofer unit on the floor. Wireless Dolby ATMOS and Q-Symphony:
When paired with a compatible 2022-2024 Samsung TV, the HW-S60D streams Dolby ATMOS wirelessly over Wi-Fi - no HDMI connection required. Q-Symphony allows the TV and soundbar speakers to play simultaneously, with Samsung's system optimising all audio channels together rather than switching between them. Both features are specific to Samsung TV owners; with other brands, the bar still performs well using DTS Virtual:X and its standard Dolby Digital Plus decoding.
SpaceFit Sound and Active Voice Amplifier:
SpaceFit Sound uses a built-in microphone to analyse the room's acoustic properties and automatically adjusts the EQ to suit the space. Active Voice Amplifier (AVA) detects background noise in the room and raises dialogue levels accordingly, so conversation remains clear during busy scenes. Placement and mounting:
The HW-S60D can be placed flat on a TV unit or wall-mounted using the included bracket. At 670 mm wide and 2.7 kg, it is well-suited to TVs from 55 inches upward and sits neatly below most flat-panel displays.
Connecting to your TV:
For Samsung TV owners, connect via HDMI eARC for full feature access including Q-Symphony, or use the Wi-Fi connection for Wireless Dolby ATMOS without any cable. For non-Samsung TVs, the optical input or HDMI eARC port provides a reliable wired connection with standard Dolby Digital and DTS decoding.
App setup and smart features:
Download the Samsung SmartThings app on iOS or Android to complete initial setup, manage sound modes, and control the soundbar alongside other Samsung devices. Alexa is activated during first setup and requires a free Amazon account to use voice control features.
Care and maintenance:
