Shark PowerDetect Cordless Vacuum Cleaner with Auto-Empty Base for Pet Hair

A cordless vacuum cleaner that charges itself and empties itself:

The Shark PowerDetect IP3251UKT is a cordless vacuum cleaner built around an Auto-Empty Base that does two jobs at once: it charges the vacuum after every clean and automatically empties the 0.7L dust cup into its own sealed 2L bag, which holds up to 45 days of dirt before you need to replace it. Shark PowerDetect intelligence monitors conditions in real time and adjusts suction, brush roll behaviour, and the built-in LED lighting without you touching a setting.

DirectionDetect and DuoClean Detect for thorough results:

DirectionDetect means the vacuum collects debris on both the forward stroke and the return stroke, so you cover the same ground twice without doubling your effort. DuoClean Detect uses two brush rolls working together: one for carpet deep cleaning, one to pull fine debris directly from hard floors. Floor Detect reads the surface automatically and adjusts brush roll speed accordingly, while Edge Detect increases suction when the nozzle is close to a skirting board or wall corner.

Designed with pet hair in mind:

Anti Hair Wrap Plus uses a bristle-guard comb system that separates hair from the brush roll continuously, so tangled hair does not build up and slow suction over time. The Motorised Pet Tool is included in the box for upholstery, stairs, and car seats, giving you a dedicated attachment wherever pet hair accumulates away from the floor. Dirt Detect identifies areas of concentrated debris and boosts suction automatically so heavily soiled patches are not missed.

Runtime, filtration, and storage:

A full charge delivers up to 70 minutes of cordless runtime, with three selectable power modes: ECO for longer battery life, Detect for automatic adjustment, and Boost for the highest suction output. The Anti-Allergen Complete Seal system captures dust and allergens within the vacuum and Auto-Empty Base rather than recirculating them, and both the vacuum filter and the base filter are washable. The Flexology wand bends 180° so the vacuum can be stored upright in a small space and can also reach flat under furniture without you needing to kneel down.

Setup and Care

Getting started:

Place the Auto-Empty Base on a flat surface near a mains socket with adequate clearance around it. Attach the wand sections and fit the floor nozzle as shown in the quick-start guide. Charge the battery fully via the base before first use; the LED display on the vacuum body confirms charge status.

Emptying and filter care:

The Auto-Empty Base empties the dust cup automatically after each clean into its sealed 2L bag; replace the bag when the indicator shows it is full, which is typically every 45 days depending on use. Both the vacuum filter and the base filter are washable: rinse them under cold water, allow to dry fully for at least 24 hours, and refit before use.

Brush roll maintenance:

Anti Hair Wrap Plus reduces hair tangling during normal use. Periodically check the brush roll and remove any remaining fibres or threads.

Storing the vacuum:

The Flexology wand bends 180° so the vacuum stands upright compactly against a wall when docked on the Auto-Empty Base. Store indoors away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures to maintain battery performance over time.
