A shellac primer that blocks stains at the source:

Blockade is a pure shellac, solvent-based sealer primer that permanently kills stains and odours from smoke, water, nicotine and mould rather than simply painting over them. Once applied, stains cannot bleed back through subsequent top coats, making it a reliable first coat on problem surfaces before emulsion, eggshell or gloss.

Sticks to almost any surface without preparation:

Blockade bonds directly to glossy surfaces such as tile, varnish and gloss paint with no sanding required, and it seals resinous knots in timber that would otherwise cause bleed-through on finished joinery. Because it is shellac-based rather than water-based, it does not raise the grain of wood, which reduces the preparation work needed before a final coat is applied.

Fast drying on a working day schedule:

The primer is touch dry in as little as 15 minutes and can be recoated after 45 minutes, which keeps jobs moving when time is limited. It can be applied at surface and air temperatures between -18°C and 32°C at a relative humidity of no more than 70%, giving it a practical working range for interior conditions year-round. Full adhesion cure is achieved within 3 days. Thin with methylated spirit and clean tools with methylated spirit immediately after use.
