Smith & Rodger DURO Anti Mould Paint for Interior Walls and Ceilings

Engineered to tackle mould at the source:

DURO Mould-Resist Paint from Smith & Rodger is a purpose-built anti mould paint developed specifically for interior surfaces prone to damp and humidity. It is formulated for professional decorators and maintenance professionals, as well as homeowners dealing with mould in bathrooms, kitchens, utility rooms, and hallways. Unlike standard emulsion, DURO provides long-term protection while delivering a clean, crisp white matt finish that stays bright over time.

Flow & Bond technology for superior adhesion:

DURO is powered by Smith & Rodger's own Flow & Bond technology, which provides superior adhesion, excellent flow, and strong coverage across interior surfaces. No thinning is required before use, and on previously painted surfaces in suitable condition, no separate primer is needed. New plaster does require a primer coat before application.

Water-based formula, tough finish:

The water-based formula keeps odour low during application and allows for straightforward clean-up with water. Once dry, the finish is tough and scrubbable, making it well suited to busy households and commercial or rental properties where walls need to withstand regular cleaning. The white finish is non-yellowing, maintaining its appearance over time.

Versatile across interior surfaces:

DURO is a multi-surface interior paint suitable for walls, ceilings, plaster, woodwork, and trim. It can be applied by brush or roller, and the 2.5 litre tin is a practical size for room-scale projects. Smith & Rodger, founded in 1877, is the UK's oldest independent family-run paint manufacturer.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a primer before applying this anti mould paint?

On previously painted surfaces in suitable condition, no separate primer is needed. New plaster is the exception - a primer coat is required before applying DURO Mould-Resist Paint to bare or freshly plastered surfaces. No thinning is required either; the paint is ready to use straight from the tin, saving both preparation time and the cost of additional products.

What makes this mould resistant paint different from a standard emulsion?

Unlike standard emulsion, DURO Mould-Resist Paint is purpose-built to tackle mould at the source on interior surfaces prone to damp and humidity. It is powered by Smith and Rodger's Flow and Bond technology, which delivers superior adhesion, excellent flow, and strong coverage. The finish is tough and scrubbable, non-yellowing, and engineered to maintain its crisp white appearance over time - qualities standard emulsion does not offer.

Which surfaces can this anti mould wall paint be applied to?

DURO is a multi-surface interior paint suitable for walls, ceilings, plaster, woodwork, and trim. It can be applied by brush or roller, making it practical for most room-scale projects. The 2DM variant is the 2.5 litre white matt tin, a useful size for treating a bathroom, kitchen, hallway, or utility room in a single session.

Is the white finish on this mould resistant interior paint low odour and easy to clean up?

Yes on both counts. The water-based formula keeps odour low during application, which is particularly useful in smaller rooms such as bathrooms and kitchens. Clean-up requires only water. Once fully dry, the finish is tough and scrubbable, so walls can withstand regular cleaning without losing their appearance - a practical advantage in busy households and rental properties.

Yes, Heavins.ie is fully committed to environmental responsibility and participates in Ireland’s WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) recycling scheme. That means when you buy a new electrical item from us, we offer free recycling of your old appliance or electrical item.
