The TL-WA850RE picks up your router's wireless signal and rebroadcasts it at up to 300Mbps on the 2.4GHz band, pushing coverage into rooms, hallways, and corners that your router cannot reach on its own. It works with any 802.11b/g/n router and requires no new cabling or equipment.
One-touch WPS setup and flexible placement:
Pairing takes just two button presses - press the WPS button on your router, then the RE button on the TL-WA850RE. Once connected, the extender can be unplugged and repositioned anywhere within range without reconfiguring from scratch. The five signal indicator lights help you find the best placement spot: aim for at least three lights lit blue for reliable performance.
Built-in Ethernet port for wired devices:
The single 10/100M Ethernet port lets you connect a smart TV, games console, Blu-ray player, or set-top box to your wireless network without a separate wireless adapter. The TL-WA850RE can also operate in Access Point mode, giving you a second network connection point from a wired broadband source.
Manage it from your phone with the Tether App:
TP-Link's Tether App (available free on iOS and Android) lets you configure the extender and toggle Night Mode, which dims the indicator lights overnight so they do not disturb sleep. The extender is also accessible via http://tplinkextender.net from any browser on your network.
