Microwaves Sale

Microwave Sale

Every microwave currently reduced at Heavins is gathered on this page. Microwaves are the category where a cheap one is genuinely not a compromised one. The technology is mature and has barely changed in twenty years, so a 20 litre 800W solo microwave does the same job at any price point, and the difference between the cheapest and the dearest solo model is finish, controls and interior lining rather than how well it heats a plate of dinner. That makes a microwave sale one of the few times where buying at the bottom of the range is the sensible decision rather than a compromise.

Power is the specification to check before price. A 700W microwave is the cheapest and is perfectly adequate for reheating, defrosting and warming, but packet instructions are written for 800W, so a 700W model needs roughly a quarter longer on most things. If the microwave is the main way food gets cooked rather than warmed, 800W is the floor and 900W is better. Inverter models hold a steady power level instead of pulsing between full power and off, which is what stops the edges of a dish overcooking while the middle stays cold, and it is the one feature genuinely worth paying more for.

Capacity is the second thing to settle, and litres describe the cavity rather than the footprint. 17 litres suits one or two people and still takes a dinner plate. 20 litres is what most Irish kitchens buy. 23 to 25 litres takes a large plate or a small casserole, and 27 to 32 litre models hold a full dinner service. Measure the gap in the units before ordering and leave clearance at the back and sides for the vents, because a reduced microwave that does not fit is no saving at all.

Cheap Small and Compact Microwaves

17 and 20 litre models at 700W and 800W are the cheapest way into the category and the size that suits a flat, a caravan, a static home, an office kitchen or a student room. A small microwave at a reduced price is the classic first home purchase. Browse small and compact microwaves.

23 Litre and Larger Solo Microwaves

From 23 litres upward at 800W, 900W and 1000W, sized for a household that cooks in the microwave rather than only reheating. This is where inverter power and stainless steel interiors start to appear. See 23 litre and larger microwaves.

Flatbed Microwaves

No turntable and no roller ring, so square dishes fit and the inside wipes clean in seconds. A flatbed at a reduced price is the easiest upgrade in the category if you have ever fought a lasagne dish against a spinning plate. Browse flatbed microwaves.

Built In and Integrated Microwaves

Built in and integrated models clear the worktop completely and fit a tall housing unit at eye level. Measure the aperture in the unit rather than the appliance, and check whether the trim kit is included. See built in and integrated microwaves.
