Primers & Undercoat

Primers & Undercoat

A properly primed surface is the foundation of any lasting paint job, and this range brings together oil-based and water-based primers, stain blockers and undercoats suited to walls, wood, metal and problem surfaces before a finish coat goes on. Whether you're dealing with bare timber, stained plaster, peeling paint or areas prone to tannin bleed-through, you'll find quick-drying formulas designed to seal, block stains and create a stable base that helps your topcoat go on evenly and adhere properly, both indoors and out.

Choosing the right undercoat or primer depends on the surface and the finish you're working towards, so it's worth matching the product to the job rather than picking on name alone. This collection features trusted names including Fleetwood, known for oil-based primer-undercoat-sealer combinations and stain-killing formulas, Zinsser, well regarded for stain-blocking primer sealers and peel-stop solutions, and Rustins, offering multi-surface stain blocking primers for smaller touch-up jobs. Browse the range to find a primer or undercoat that suits your surface and preparation needs.
