Single Drawer Air Fryer

Single Drawer Air Fryers

One basket, one temperature, one thing to wash. A single drawer air fryer gives you the largest usable cooking space for the counter space it occupies, because none of the volume is lost to a divider, and it is the simpler machine to live with if you mostly cook one thing at a time. Capacities here run from 3.8 litres, which suits one or two people and fits under a wall unit easily, through 4.5 and 4.7 litres for a couple who batch a little, up to 6.2 litres for a small family and 10.4 litres for a full chicken or a tray of roast vegetables. The rule of thumb worth knowing is that a single 9 litre basket holds more usable food than a dual zone machine of the same total capacity, so if you never cook two things at different temperatures you are better off here. The category also covers three related shapes. Portable glass air fryers use a removable glass basket that goes from the machine into the fridge and onto the table, which suits cooking for one and reheating rather than a family meal. Air fryer ovens at 17 litres and halogen ovens at 12 litres use a shelf instead of a basket, so they bake and hold a small tray, and they are the closest thing to a second oven on a countertop. Multicookers and health grills add pressure cooking, grilling, roasting, steaming and dehydrating to the same body, which is worth it if counter space rather than money is the constraint. Look for a dishwasher-safe non-stick basket, and check the machine's height against your wall units before ordering the larger models.

Ninja covers most of this range, from the 3.8 litre Air Fryer and 4.7 litre Air Fryer Pro through the 6.2 litre MAX PRO to the 10.4 litre FlexDrawer, plus the portable CRISPi glass fryers, the Foodi multicookers and the Foodi Max Pro health grill. Quest supplies the 17 litre multi function air fryer oven, the 12 litre halogen oven and a 3 litre deep fat fryer, Russell Hobbs the Satisfry single drawer, and Tefal further single drawer and multi function options. Twin basket machines are in double drawer air fryers, and the full range with buying guidance is in air fryers.

Single basket machines are the cheapest way into the category and the part of the range where a reduced price does not cost you anything in performance, because a fan and an element crisp the same at any price.
