1/1.3-inch sensor with 4K/120fps and SuperNight mode:

The DJI Osmo Action 5 Pro records 4K video at up to 120 frames per second and captures 40MP stills using a 1/1.3-inch CMOS sensor with 2.4-micrometre pixels. It delivers 13.5 stops of dynamic range, which is 1.5 stops more than the Osmo Action 4, meaning it holds detail in both bright highlights and deep shadows even when shooting at sunrise, sunset, or under mixed lighting. 10-bit colour, D-Log M, and HLG modes provide over one billion colours for post-production grading, and SuperNight mode uses AI noise reduction for sharper footage in very low light.

360-degree HorizonSteady stabilisation (no gimbal required):

Rather than relying on a physical gimbal, the Action 5 Pro uses DJI's electronic image stabilisation system with three modes: RockSteady for general shake reduction, HorizonBalancing for keeping the horizon level in 4K, and 360-degree HorizonSteady which corrects horizontal tilts with no angle limit. The result is steady, level footage during cycling, running, skiing, or any activity with heavy vibration and rotation, all handled internally by the camera.

Waterproof to 20 metres with built-in pressure gauge:

The Action 5 Pro is waterproof to 20 metres straight out of the box with no additional housing required, rated IP68. A built-in pressure gauge records real-time water depth and altitude data while shooting, and the camera can automatically start recording when it enters the water and stop when it surfaces. For deeper dives, the optional Waterproof Case extends the depth rating to 60 metres. A built-in colour temperature sensor adjusts white balance underwater for natural-looking footage without external filters.

Subject Tracking, dual screens, and OsmoAudio:

Subject Tracking mode uses the 4nm processor to detect and follow a moving subject, keeping them centred in the frame in both 16:9 and 9:16 aspect ratios, which is particularly useful for solo vlogging, cycling, and filming pets or other people. The dual OLED touchscreens (1.46-inch front at 800 nits, 2.5-inch rear at 1000 nits peak) provide clear framing even in direct sunlight. DJI OsmoAudio connects wirelessly to DJI Mic 2 or Mic Mini transmitters at 48kHz without a separate receiver, giving you broadcast-quality audio straight out of the camera.

Setup and Care

Getting started:

Insert the Extreme Battery Plus into the battery compartment and charge via the USB-C port using the included cable. Download the DJI Mimo app to your phone for camera setup, firmware updates, and video editing. The camera is ready to shoot as soon as it powers on, with the rear touchscreen providing full menu access via swipe gestures.

Mounting and accessories:

Use the included Horizontal-Vertical Protective Frame and Quick-Release Adapter Mount to attach the camera to helmets, handlebars, chest straps, or tripods. The flat and curved adhesive bases provide permanent mounting options for smooth surfaces. The frame supports both horizontal and vertical shooting orientations.

Waterproofing:

Before any water use, close the battery compartment cover and the USB-C port cover firmly, and tighten the Glass Lens Cover. The camera is rated to 20 metres without additional housing. For deeper or prolonged underwater use, fit the optional Waterproof Case (sold separately). After saltwater use, rinse the camera in fresh water and dry thoroughly before opening any covers.

Storage and maintenance:

Keep the lens and screens clean using a soft, lint-free cloth. Avoid abrasive materials on the OLED touchscreens. Store the camera with the battery removed if not in use for extended periods. For best performance, use recommended microSD cards (SanDisk Extreme PRO or Kingston CANVAS Go! Plus, U3 V30 or higher).
