Dyson V12 Detect Slim Absolute Cordless Vacuum Cleaner with Laser Dust Detection

Lightweight build, no compromise on suction:

The Dyson V12 Detect Slim Absolute weighs 2.4 kg with the Motorbar™ cleaner head attached, making it one of the lightest cordless vacuums in the Dyson range without sacrificing suction power. The Dyson Hyperdymium™ motor spins at up to 125,000 rpm, generating 150 Air Watts of suction across three power modes: Auto, Eco, and Boost. A single power button delivers continuous operation without holding the trigger.

Fluffy Optic cleaner head - dust you can now see:

The Fluffy Optic™ cleaner head shines a precisely angled laser beam across hard floors, illuminating fine dust and debris that is invisible under normal lighting. This makes it straightforward to verify that a surface is clean, rather than guessing. The Motorbar™ cleaner head is included for carpets and rugs, with an anti-tangle design suited to homes with pets or long hair.

Dust Detect sensor that responds in real time:

A piezo Dust Detect sensor counts airborne particles up to 15,000 times per second and automatically adjusts suction to match the level of debris present. This balances cleaning performance with battery efficiency throughout a session. The on-board LCD screen displays the current power mode, a run-time countdown, and maintenance alerts so you always know the machine's status at a glance.

Hair Screw Tool for tangles and pet hair:

The Hair Screw Tool uses a conical barrel that draws hair into the tool rather than wrapping it around a brush bar, reducing the need to stop and clear blockages. It works on upholstery, stairs, and car interiors. Combined with the crevice tool and combination tool, the V12 Detect Slim Absolute covers the full range of surfaces in a typical home.

Sealed filtration for allergy-sensitive homes:

The whole-machine filtration system is fully sealed to prevent fine particles escaping back into the room. It captures 99.99% of particles as small as 0.3 microns, including allergens, mould spores, and pet dander. The filter is washable and the bin empties with a single push of the lever.

Run time and recharging:

The 25.2 V advanced seven-cell lithium-ion Click-in battery delivers up to 60 minutes of run time in Eco mode. A full charge takes approximately 4 hours using the included wall-mounted docking station, which also stores the machine and selected attachments between uses. The click-in battery design means a spare battery can be fitted to extend a cleaning session if needed.

Setup and Care

Getting started:

Attach the docking station to a wall at a convenient height using the fittings provided, then connect the charger. Click the battery into the machine and place it on the dock to charge fully before first use. The LCD screen will indicate when the battery is ready.

Changing and swapping attachments:

All cleaner heads and tools click directly onto the wand or the machine body without tools. Switch between the Fluffy Optic™ head for hard floors and the Motorbar™ head for carpets in a few seconds. The wand clip keeps a frequently used tool stored on the docking station.

Emptying the bin:

Hold the vacuum over a bin and press the red lever to open the bin door and release debris. The bin can be detached and rinsed monthly with cold water; allow it to dry fully before reattaching. Avoid using washing-up liquid or other cleaning agents inside the bin.

Filter care:

Wash the filter under cold running water once a month and allow it to air dry completely for at least 24 hours before refitting. A dry filter maintains filtration performance and protects the motor. The LCD screen will display a maintenance alert when the filter requires attention.
