FM Radios

A traditional radio still earns its place next to a phone for a few practical reasons. Battery and mains models keep working through a power cut where a phone eventually needs charging, and a dedicated tuning dial or preset buttons are quicker to find a station on than scrolling a phone app. Bedside and clock radio formats add an alarm and a display sized to read from bed without reaching for a screen. Portable models with a handle or rechargeable battery suit the kitchen, garden or a workshop, and emergency models add a hand crank, solar panel and torch for use without any power source at all. Multiband models add AM, DAB or Bluetooth streaming alongside FM, which is worth checking if a specific station has moved off analogue FM.

Roberts covers DAB and DAB+ portable digital radios with Bluetooth streaming. Philips supplies an emergency portable AM/FM radio with torch, solar panel and hand crank. Panasonic and Trevi cover portable and multiband rechargeable radios with Bluetooth, alongside Lloytron, Roadstar and Homesound models across desk, AM/FM and music streaming formats.
