Heated Airer

Heated Airer

Heated clothes airers dry laundry indoors on heated bars rather than tumble drying, using a fraction of the electricity of a standard tumble dryer. Designs on this page range from compact winged airers holding a couple of loads up to 3-tier models on wheels with a cover included, which traps warm air around the clothes and speeds up drying further. Bar counts run up to 20 bars on the larger winged models, and total hanging length is the figure worth comparing between models rather than bar count alone, since wing designs add usable length beyond the central frame.

A cover is worth choosing on a larger model if drying speed matters, since it holds warm air around the clothes rather than letting it escape into the room. Smaller apartments without space for a tumble dryer are the main use case, though anyone looking to cut drying costs on any laundry load will see a difference against tumble drying.
