Fireside Baskets & Buckets

Fireside Baskets & Buckets

Coal and ash need different handling, which is why a hearth set usually needs more than one container. A coal hod or bucket carries fuel to the fire and is built from metal, often with a lid, to keep coal dust contained between the coal shed and the hearth. An ash bucket, also usually galvanised with a lid, is for what's left after burning, and keeping the two separate stops fuel getting sooty before it's even lit. Wicker log and turf baskets take a different approach for storing fuel beside the fire itself rather than carrying it: a canvas liner keeps bark, splinters and dust from getting through the weave and onto the floor, and oval, round and rectangular shapes are sized for different hearth spaces.

Sirocco supplies the range, including oval, round and rectangular wicker baskets with canvas liners, a wicker log wheelie cart, a metal coal bucket with lid, a galvanised ash bucket, a coal hod and a briquette bin holder.
