Snowy Christmas Trees

Snowy Christmas Trees

A snowy tree is a green tree with white flocking worked over the needle tips, so it reads as a tree that has been standing out in the snow rather than as a white tree. That distinction matters when you are choosing: the green still shows through underneath, which keeps the shape readable, where a solid white tree flattens into a silhouette. Frosted is the lighter version of the same idea, with the white concentrated on the very tips.

Two practical things. Flocking sheds a little in its first year, so unbox the tree outdoors or over an old sheet and give it a shake before it comes into the room. And pale decorations disappear on a snowy tree, so the palette has to be saturated colour or metallic to register at all.

Snowy, Flocked and Frosted Finishes

Snowy and flocked describe the same treatment, heavier coverage across the branch. Frosted is lighter and sits mostly on the tips, which suits a room where a full snow effect would be too much. Heights run from 7ft to 9ft, and the range includes pre lit sets where the lights are already worked into the branches before the flocking. Browse the full range of snowy Christmas trees.

Decorating a Snowy Tree

White, cream and blush baubles vanish against flocking. Deep red, forest green, navy, and anything metallic in gold, copper or antique silver hold their own and give the tree contrast. Keep the decoration count lower than you would on a plain green tree, because the flocking is already doing visual work. See Christmas baubles.

Warm White Lights on a Snowy Tree

Warm white against flocking gives the soft, lit from within look people picture. Cool white on a snowy tree reads clinical and drains the warmth out of the room, which is the commonest mistake made with these trees. Our warm white Christmas lights are the safe match, and Christmas tree lights covers the right length by tree height.

Snowy, Slim or Plain Green

If the room is tight as well, the slim and pencil Christmas trees range includes snowy pencil pines that do both jobs at once. For the full comparison across finishes and footprints, see Christmas trees.

Black Friday falls on Friday 27 November 2026 and Cyber Monday on Monday 30 November. Snowy trees are a smaller part of any tree range than plain green, so the sizes go early and are rarely replaced. See Christmas at Heavins for the rest of the season.
