Luxair 74cm Canopy Cooker Hood in Stainless Steel for Built-In Kitchens

Built-in extraction that handles a busy kitchen:

The Luxair LA-74-CAN-SS fits neatly beneath an overhead cabinet or canopy unit, giving you a clean, integrated look without sacrificing extraction performance. At 74cm wide, it suits hobs up to 70cm, and its stainless steel finish holds up well in a working kitchen environment.

Three-speed fan for flexible control:

A slider control on the hood body lets you switch between three fan speeds to suit what you are cooking. At lower settings - from around 480 m³/hr - the hood runs quietly enough for everyday use. At maximum speed it delivers high-volume extraction to clear steam, smoke, and cooking smells quickly.

LED lighting and easy-clean filters:

Two built-in LED lights illuminate the hob without adding heat. The washable metal mesh grease filters lift out for cleaning, and because they are dishwasher-safe, maintenance is straightforward. The filters catch airborne grease before it reaches the fan motor, helping to keep the hood working efficiently over time.

Ducted or recirculated installation:

The hood can be installed for ducted extraction to the outside using 6-inch round ducting, or set up for recirculation using charcoal carbon filters (sold separately). The recommended minimum installation height above the hob is 65cm. A qualified installer should confirm the most suitable configuration for your kitchen layout.

Setup and Care

Installation:

This hood is designed to fit beneath an overhead kitchen cabinet or canopy unit. Install at a minimum height of 65cm above the hob surface. Use 6-inch (150mm) round ducting for best results; 5-inch (125mm) is the minimum accepted size. Professional installation is recommended to ensure correct ducting connections and safe electrical fitting.

Choosing ducted or recirculated mode:

For ducted installation, route the outlet to an external wall or roof duct for maximum efficiency. For recirculated use where external ducting is not possible, fit compatible charcoal carbon filters (available separately) and ensure they are replaced at regular intervals to maintain performance.

Cleaning the grease filters:

Remove the metal mesh grease filters regularly - monthly is a good guide for average use - and wash them in the dishwasher or by hand with warm soapy water. Allow them to dry fully before refitting. Keeping the filters clean helps the fan draw air efficiently and reduces grease build-up inside the hood.

General care:

Wipe the stainless steel exterior with a damp cloth and a mild, non-abrasive cleaner. Avoid harsh chemicals or scouring pads that could mark the finish. Disconnect the hood from the mains supply before carrying out any cleaning or maintenance.
