Rustins Wood Bleach Set - Two-Part Lightening System for Bare Wood

How the two-solution system works:

Rustins Wood Bleach Set uses a stabilised hydrogen peroxide chemistry split across two bottles. Apply Solution A liberally to clean, bare wood with a synthetic brush and leave it for 10 to 20 minutes. Follow immediately with Solution B, applied in the same way, and allow a minimum of 2 hours for the bleaching reaction to complete before sanding and finishing.

What it is used for:

The set removes weather stains, sun discolouration, ink marks, and general darkening from bare timber. It is also used to lighten naturally dark timbers - such as mahogany - so they can be re-stained to a lighter shade using Rustins Wood Dyes. Suitable for floors, doors, window frames, worktops, wardrobes, dressers, sideboards, and tables and chairs.

Surface preparation is essential:

The product will only work on completely bare wood. All existing varnish, lacquer, wax, or polish must be stripped away before applying either solution. Rustins recommends using Rustins Strypit Paint and Varnish Stripper to prepare the surface beforehand. Once bleaching is complete, the wood can be finished with Rustins White French Polish, Plastic Coating, or Acrylic Varnish for a light, natural result.

Coverage and hazard information:

Each set covers approximately 11 square metres, depending on the absorbency of the wood. Solution A is classified as an irritant; Solution B is classified as corrosive and oxidising. Store the set in a cool, dark place away from direct sunlight and keep bottles upright as directed on the packaging.
